Measurements taken by equipment at the FHGR
We have appliances tested at the FHGR, our long-standing partner organisation for testing. Typically, we test the standard size within a particular appliance category and extrapolate the savings to other sizes. At present, no testing of dishwashers is required at the FHGR.

EcoGastro’s aim is to contribute to the sustainable transformation of the sector. By awarding appliances the EcoGastro certification and enabling a transparent comparison with competitors, manufacturers are encouraged to drive forward technological developments.
Typical questions
Which devices are eligible for funding?
In principle, all categories of appliances are eligible for funding. In order for funding to be granted, an appliance must be demonstrably more energy-efficient than other appliances on the market. This is demonstrated by energy efficiency ratings measured in accordance with established standards.
Is a measurement at the FHGR required for all devices?
It’s quite simple: when selling a certified device, the retailer or seller creates a voucher on the subsidy platform. Customers then redeem the voucher on the subsidy platform and receive their payment within a week.
How long does the certification process take?
Certification usually takes around 4 weeks, depending on when the measurement is carried out at the FHGR. For dishwashers, it takes just a few days, provided you supply us with the correct details and supporting documentation. You register your energy-efficient appliance with EcoGastro and we will assess your application.
Measurement at the FHGR
With the exception of dishwashers, measurements are carried out at FHGR. Please arrange the measurement appointment directly with FHGR.
Admission & Support
If the measurement results are satisfactory, the appliance will be approved and promoted. You will receive the EcoGastro certificate.

Retail and manufacturing businesses submit their claims digitally. Catering businesses redeem the vouchers they have received online and are paid the subsidy directly. Energy suppliers submit their applications directly via the portal.
